"Manchester Art Gallery has played a central role for artists in the city for almost 200 years; as an art school, an exhibition space and venue for convening of creative minds. In the best of times, it is vital in that we maintain this tradition and ensure the artistic ecology of the city continues to thrive and diversify; now in COVID times we need to support the precarious economy of the artist more than ever. We are offering this space on our online platform for artists to sell their work and looking to extend this to the physical space of the gallery shop once we re-open." - Alistair Hudson, Director
