In lush paintings of gardens, meadows, and wetlands, British artist Rosalind Wise invites viewers into the natural vistas she knows and loves. Her works are large, typically four to five feet across, to communicate a sense of place. On behalf of the viewer, Wise strives to capture the energy and sensory detail of a moment in time. Having sketched a scene in the open air, she later focuses on color, texture, and form when completing the painting in her studio. Studies in unpretentious beauty, twelve of Wise’s paintings grace this calendar.
