Based in a studio in Glasgow's east end, Karen hand stitches textile objects that are anthropomorphic in character, with inspirations including old, worn toys, Staffordshire pottery, folk crafts and stop-motion animation. Karen also makes a small number of objects, such as pigeons, influenced by urban wildlife.
Nom Nom' bunny is a new venture, here Karen designs template components with printed imagery, the printed fabric features carrot imagery for the bunnies. These are then hand stitched and embroidered on the printed fabric parts to create the finished item
